The walls of my mind

What are the walls of your mind adorned with? Is your mind stayed on Jesus? What do you really think about your current situation?

The Bible says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he
trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." Mark 12:30

"And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;" Ephesians 4:23

The Lord keeps bringing this topic to me. My mind, my thoughts. The battle is won there. Why have I not thought about this before now? I'm not sure and I can't even say I've perfected the act or art of girding up my mind, but boy the Lord sure is opening my understanding on this.

At Ladies Conference this year Sis.
Linville spoke about girding up our mind and how as godly Christian women there are things we should not let into our minds. We should have a focus about us that says, "...whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Phillipians 4:8. Her message had an impact on me.

It didn't stop there, several people since the conference have written or spoken on this same topic. Sis.Hurst, my Pastor's wife, wrote on her blog not too long ago about this very thing. I also have been reading and re-reading Sis.Joy Haney's book The Power of Speaking Positive. Wow, that is an awesome book. I've had to stop several times and go back because I wanted to make sure I was digesting everything.

I've given myself some homework. I have begun to write down positive things, with that I give that word or phrase a picture or visual. Then I hang that piece of art on the wall of my mind. Again, I haven't perfected this, so if I'm in a bad mood please don't tell my to go to the art gallery of my mind or I might tell you to go "someplace!" Kidding of course. I am enjoying this journey of redecorating my mind and the Lord just keeps me reminding me if I get off course, so I know I'm in His will with this mind makeover!

I'm not loosing my mind, it's just being renovated!

Have a blessed week ~ Mindy
